Research & Theses
Research Overview
Materials used in mechanical structures around the world such as vehicles, aircrafts, power plants and the like are under forces that correspond to the role and environment they are being used in respectively. In our laboratory, we focus on actual phenomena associated with the destruction or deformation of the material subjected to these forces, working on diverse problems related to material strength studies such as fracture mechanics and elastic-plastic mechanics. Based on the information obtained from various measuring techniques such as defect detection using ultrasonic waves and stress measurement using infrared, we step into underlying theories of deformation and fracture processes of material to spread design guidelines for reliable materials and structures and the design of materials and structures to worldwide.
